Abel Maxwell's journey is a thrilling tale of perseverance and vision. Landing in Canada from Togo via France, with nothing but dreams, Abel soared to international acclaim as an artist and public figure.

Abel Maxwell is an award-winning singer-songwriter, an author, and an entrepreneur based in Toronto and Montreal. Born and raised in Senegal to Togolese parents, educated in France and the Netherlands, and proud to be Canadian for nearly twenty years, Abel has spent his adult life bridging cultural, racial, and linguistic gaps while promoting intercultural learning and understanding.

In 2024, he was elected by Canadian Immigrant magazine as one of the top 25 immigrants in Canada, receiving the prestigious TOP25 Canadian Immigrant Award, a distinction that celebrates the impact of new Canadians across the country.

​

Abel Maxwell has also been honored by the Ordre de la Pléiade, awarded by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the Francophonie. These honors reflect his commitment to the community and his positive influence on culture and the arts in Canada.

​

A graduate with an MBA and a senior financial analyst for a major Canadian company, Abel quickly realized that his true vocation was empowering youth and fostering entrepreneurship through music and the arts.

He has hosted and produced popular radio shows, co-authored a bestselling book, launched his own record label, released five highly acclaimed albums, and performed in over 14 countries across North America, Europe, and Africa, in some of the most famous concert halls in the world. He recently performed at the Francophonie Summit in Paris, in front of government leaders and heads of state.

Abel has used his artistic success as a springboard to support numerous community causes, tirelessly promoting the arts, the French language, Black empowerment, community service, and entrepreneurship among youth.
